Amane Advisors China’s Alex Zhang will host the Chinese Membrane Association Sponsorship Program on Oct 23rd, Wednesday from 16:00 – 17:30.

Sponsored by the Membrane Industry Association of China, the topics will cover the rapid growth of the Chinese desalination market under the advocacy of the Chinese government as well as technology innovations for seawater desalination and water reuse by Chinese water solution providers.

The Chinese government has been actively promoting seawater desalination and water reuse technology in the past decade with multiple action plans and proposals highlighting the importance of scaling up the seawater desalination industry to better protect our marine environment.

Following the call by the nation’s leaders, the Chinese water solution providers have heavily devoted their efforts to the technology advancement. Now, Chinese desalination players have started to make strong market presence and brand recognition in the global market with cost-effective desalination product and technology such as seawater desalination membranes, packaged systems, etc. IDA Congress will serve as a great opportunity for Chinese desalination players to explore and expand the Middle East and African markets.

Thierry Noel will be co-moderating an insightful session on the “Bankability of Mega Water Projects: How to Increase the Appetite of Lenders and Financial Development Institutions?” on Oct 22nd, Tuesday from 14:30 – 15:30

The panel will address the challenges of securing funding for more water projects and the growing trend in the MENA region towards non-traditional banking such as Islamic Banking and the role of international funds. Discussions will include their experience with managing risks and what can be done to attract more investors and lenders to water projects, EPC and long term concessions in new regions and markets.

Another session on Innovation on Oct 24th, Thursday from 9:00 – 12:30 will be co-chaired by Thierry.

Participants from all over the world will be giving presentations on the latest developments in desalination technologies including the impact of the digital age on the sector.
